2007 Seattle Boat Show

I had a great time at the Seattle Boat Show last weekend. I missed the Cascadia Sailors’ Dinner at 7 p.m. because I was still watching the end of a sail trim seminar and then needed to drive back to Portland.

As for the boat show itself, the Delphia 40 was fun to board and check out. Almost all of the seminars I went to were entertaining as well. My big purchase of the trip was Beth Leonard’s new Voyager’s Handbook. Now all I need is a boat to voyage on…

If you haven’t been to a big boat show, check out the free seminars and pick a good day to go. There’s a lot to be learned, and different perspectives to compare. I think my favorite seminar was about the “realities” of living aboard a boat, which is quite different than doing long-term cruising.
